Track & Field

Registration for the Spring 2020 Program will begin in January or February.

SPRING Youth Track and Field
Up to 175 children will be accepted with a Wait List started when the 175 is met.
A BIRTH CERTIFICATE is required by the league.
For those that were NOT registered in the Spring 2019 Cross Country program, Birth Certificates need to be submitted to Chatham Recreation, 54 Fairmount. Registrations will not be complete without the certificate.

The registration fee is TBD. In addition to the registration fee, each participant would be required to purchase a Chatham Track & Field shirt which will cost approximately $10. There will also be in addition running jerseys, shorts and other spirit wear available for purchase.

The program is designed for all runners from beginner runners to experienced runners. The program is available to CHATHAM children CURRENTLY in grades 3-8.
Children must be between the ages of 9 through 15 (based on their age as of December 31, 2020). (NOTE: No one below current grade 3, regardless of age, and no High School students are eligible).

This program is designed so that children who participate in this program can also participate in other recreation or club programs. Therefore, this may be the primary sport for some children during the season and a secondary sport for others.

The program participates in the Lakeland Junior Track and Field League which is comprised of several other Morris County teams.

The meets will generally be held on Sundays starting at the end of March/beginning of April. The season will run through the early/middle of June. There could be some Saturdays based on a towns availability of space.

Transportation will not be provided to the meets. The practices are expected to begin in the middle/end of March and would be held locally 2 times a week for each age group.

The success of the program depends on volunteers/parent participation. The Spring Track & Field program is more complex, therefore more volunteers are necessary to make the spring program successful.

Please consider volunteering even if it is for just one day a week. Please indicate if you are able to volunteer on your registration form.
Please note that ALL volunteers, before participating must obtain a Fingerprint Background Check and/or Name Check Renewal with Chatham Recreation and also Rutgers Safety training.
